Website & Strategy

Revamping the online presence of a long-standing client with a decade-old website involved crafting a vibrant and dynamic platform. The result was a website that instilled a sense of pride in the client, aligning seamlessly with their present objectives.

Process

For our rapid website development projects, I initiate a collaborative information gathering session involving the project manager, copywriter, developer, and creative director. Through a thorough exploration, I extract crucial details, address concerns, formulate a strategic plan, and present wireframes along with visual inspiration for team discussion. My design process kicks off with a high-fidelity rendition of the wireframe, incorporating color and intricate details. Working closely with the copywriter, I refine homepage copy for the client presentation. Subsequently, I conduct a critique session involving fellow creatives, developers, and project managers to gather valuable feedback. After refining the design based on the critique, I present the finalized version to the client. In this instance, it received approval during the presentation, marking the commencement of preparations for the build phase.

Challenges

The client lacked comprehensive brand guidelines and only had a limited color palette. The primary objective was to foster a more community-driven approach. Aiming to make a visual statement that attracts members. Targeting a younger audience demographic. Emphasizing the use of full, engaging images to maintain user interest while scrolling.

Solutions

Embarking on this design, my goal was to forge a robust visual identity, incorporating elements that evoke pride. As they initiated a Facebook page during the build, I saw they integrated elements from their website. Placing their values above the fold ensures visibility for potential consumers. Large images with gradient overlays were employed for impactful visuals, while vibrant colors and dynamic shapes encourage user engagement through scrolling.
